I'm Rachel, 19 from Doncaster in the North East of England.

Two sections of my Microbiology & Genetics exam have been marked & I’ve passed!
Not did as well as I would have hoped to in the multiple choice section but a pass is a pass!
I think I should get a 2.1 on it overall, which was what I was expecting, not my strongest module.

I know I’ve passed another two modules from the coursework grades I’ve got back. Just been to wait for my 3 other exams to be marked & the grades put up now!

Last exam was the worst exam;

Typical.
& not just because some of the questions were horrendous either.
They noticed that the seen question we had been given was different to the one in the exam. Apparently it’ll be taken into account but come on… how on earth does that happen?! I don’t get how they can fairly mark that section.
That was the only question in that section of the exam I was confident with!
We didn’t get a periodic table until half way though either. With it being a chemistry exam, you’d think they’d know that we’d need one, wouldn’t you?

Guh.
A group of us are going into uni tomorrow to formally complain. We don’t trust the lecturer who came to the exam to tell the faculty, we think they’ll try & turn a blind eye to it.

 First year of uni is finished now though! Going out to celebrate later, should be a good night!

Feeling horrendously guilty;

The screen on my laptop has a loose connection, so I have to keep it at a 45 degree angle for it to work, which is nearly impossible to work with.
So we went out last night & my dad’s bought me a new laptop, a Samsung one and an external hard drive so I can transfer over all my stuff.

I’m so so so grateful that he was okay with getting me a new one, I thought he’d make me put up with it until I finished my first year (in a couple of days) & then look into getting it repaired.

I feel so bad when they spend so much money on me though. Especially when I feel like it should be me paying for it myself because it was probably my fault that there is a lose connection from bringing it to/from uni on the train.

I’ve offered to pay the majority or half of whatever it came to in total but he just refuses to take any money for it.

Apparently they were contemplating getting me a new one anyway because my old one is massive & heavy & I find it difficult to carry to uni & back when I need it to do work. Plus, it hurts my back from that too.

Hopefully we’re going to get my now old laptop repaired so at least my parents can use it so it’s not just going to sit there gathering dust.

I really hope I can get a job so I can pay them back (& they’ll accept it!) & then not have to worry about having enough money in my bank to last me for my second year of uni.
